Moth (if only i were an insect. . . )

You were right

Right on time

This morning was my dead line

But you brought it back to life

Blooming trees

The redbuds flowering

So let's fill up our cheeks before that redness leaves

A sweet taste in your mouth

Don't swallow it down

You gotta take in the town

Now

Now, now, now, now, now

It's been raining

It's been pouring

Enough to fill an empty quarry

In the valley where I'm from

It would be flooded

But I'd wade in the water

Swim just like an otter

D-dive to the bottom of that town

I don't care if I drown

Now, now, now, now, now

My legs are roots

They've been stripped from the ground

My arms are wings

And they migrate south

I'm coming your directions using my sense of smell

And I don't need my eyes to tell

I could find you in the dark

But the distance is sinking in

Like an aromatic insense

And it still smells good but it's not your fragrance

The center of gravity shifts me

Around and around until I"m dizzy from that town

Now, now, now, now

My legs are roots

They've been stripped from the ground

My arms are wings

And they migrate south

I'm coming your directions using my sense of smell

And I don't need my eyes to tell

I could find you in the dark . . .
