Music review by Robin Beck, Michiana’s Rainbow Gazzette, South Bend , IN. July 2005. Sometimes, it’s wonderful to hear the simplicity of one guitar and one vocalist. There’s nothing simple about the style Denise Dill plays or writes in, take it from another musician, but it is a breath of fresh air. Denise writes from the heart and tells all. Fans love “Chameleon:; I think Bob Dylan would too. In “Cicada”, Densie gives the southern Indiana onslaught of insects from Mars a whole ner dimension, comparing her life with the evolution of the cicada cycle. Personally, I like “Pattern”. The repetition, the peaking part, the breaks—it all works well together. I highly recomment this CD for you female-loving, folk music hounds. Denise Dill by Denise Dill can be purchased from her website at www.denisedill.com . She will be performing at Another Bookstore on July 23 at 7pm . There is a cover charge. |
